It was a warm day in August when I entered the world. My father has been heard to say that every life decision I have made is not one that he would have predicted . . . well, that’s me! All my life I have enjoyed flowers, nature, and people. My design style incorporates a lot of natural elements along with higher end garden flowers.
I have over 20 years of experience in planning all levels of events. As a former Army officer, the details involved in event planning aren’t overwhelming, but anticipated. I have owned the flower shop Every Bloomin’ Thing in Iowa City since March of 2019. Before owning the business, I was a part-time floral designer. I have a public relations degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and am a graduate of the Floral Careers program at Kirkwood Community College.
Although not a native to Iowa, I have grown to love this tight-knit community where my family is growing and putting down roots. Our business is family owned and operated and has been for 50 years here in Iowa City. Let us put all our experience and creativity to work for your special event.
Don’t let him fool you because he doesn’t like to design he is a very important part of our team. If we can dream it he can build it or install it. His 25 years of Army service have prepared him for the challenges of event work. Knowing that nothing is ever as easy as it seems and that the best laid plans are often changed on the spot make him irreplaceable during set-up. He also helps us track and organize all of our events throughout the process.

Some might call it a consultation, but we think of it as a dream design session! We’ll meet you in the store or at a restaurant or coffee shop–ideally a cozy place with wifi so that we can explore your vision together. If you aren’t sure what you are looking for yet, no worries! For Weddings:
After our consultation appointment, we will put together a proposal that addresses your needs and desires. You will receive a mood board showcasing your personalized elements, including everything that was discussed in the initial consultation, a break down of the cost of the flowers, the schedule of the delivery, and the contract.
Payment details: A deposit of $500 is due as soon as possible to secure the event date. 50% of the final cost is due 120 days prior to the event, and the final payment is due 21 days prior to the scheduled event.
Once your date is booked, the proposal is agreed upon, and the contracts are signed, we will schedule a final appointment for about three months before the wedding. We will go over any further details that may have come up and address any changes that need to be made. We may also have a final telephone meeting a week before the event to verify final details.
